Humane World for Animals (formerly The Humane Society of the United States) at Dine Brands Global
Ask Dine Brands to establish and publish measurable targets for switching to group-housed pork in its U.S. restaurants, and then to report progress on meeting them regularly.
What happened
Result: Not approved at the annual meeting of 15 May 2024, as Proposal Five: 3,221,538 votes for, 8,630,597 against, 287,325 abstentions and 1,480,210 broker non-votes, as certified in Dine Brands' Item 5.07 Form 8-K. That is 27.2 percent of the shares voted for and against, or 26.5 percent if abstentions are counted in the base.
Not approved. The Accountability Board, which was not the proponent, told Dine Brands shareholders it would vote for the proposal, and objected that the board's opposition statement answered a request for a report that the proposal had not made: it asks for targets, which the company could publish on the webpage it already keeps on the subject.
