What happened
Result: Voted on as Item 7 at the annual meeting of 25 May 2022 and not approved: 90,964,616 votes for, 101,866,066 against, 2,368,239 abstaining and 19,306,309 broker non-votes. That is 47.2% of the votes cast for and against, which is the 47 percent the earlier version of this row recorded. Travelers' board recommended a vote against it.
We found no documented racial justice audit by Travelers, and no change that any source we opened attributes to this vote. The board told shareholders that its existing commitment to diversity and inclusion and the regulation it already works under made the audit unnecessary.
