At Bloomin' Brands the ask was a report on reducing the company's total contribution to climate change, including supply chain emissions from commodities such as palm oil, soy, beef and pulp and paper; at Home Depot it was a report assessing how the company could eliminate deforestation and the degradation of primary forests from its supply chains.
What happened
Result: Approved at both companies, in different seasons. At Bloomin' Brands' annual meeting on May 18, 2021 the proposal drew 53,129,743 votes for, 16,632,424 against, 477,388 abstaining and 7,191,198 broker non-votes, which is 76.16 percent counting only votes for and against. At Home Depot's annual meeting on May 19, 2022 it drew 469,758,767 for, 256,769,584 against, 7,748,621 abstaining and 143,770,510 broker non-votes, which is 64.66 percent.
