Humane World for Animals (formerly The Humane Society of the United States) at Casey's General Stores
Ask Casey's to disclose any Supplier Code of Conduct it has, if it has one at all, together with all specific responsible procurement and supply chain policies, standards or expectations, within three months of the 2023 annual meeting, at reasonable cost and omitting proprietary information.
What happened
Result: Not approved at the annual meeting of 6 September 2023, as Proposal 5: 5,655,617 votes for, 25,728,667 against, 350,395 abstentions and 2,979,736 broker non-votes, as certified in Casey's Item 5.07 Form 8-K. That is 18.0 percent of the shares voted for and against, or 17.8 percent if abstentions are counted in the base.
Not approved. The Accountability Board, which was not the proponent, urged a vote for the proposal and answered the company's defence that its 2023 sustainability report already responded to it: if the report answered the proposal, it argued, publishing it would cost the company nothing, and in any case the report does not disclose the policies the proposal asks for.
