Result: The SEC staff declined to concur that Walmart could exclude the proposal under Rule 14a-8(i)(7), finding that it transcends ordinary business matters, so it reached the ballot as Proposal No. 7. At the annual meeting on 5 June 2024 it was rejected, with 294,769,269 shares voted for, 6,372,320,195 against and 32,796,608 abstaining, alongside 630,945,292 broker non-votes.
