Humane World for Animals (formerly The Humane Society of the United States) at McDonald's

Ask McDonald's to disclose what exactly the 15 key welfare indicators used in its animal welfare programme are, with specific detail on each and on how the company uses it to measure and improve the welfare of animals in its poultry supply, within six months of the 2023 annual meeting, at reasonable cost and omitting proprietary information.

What happened

Result: Not approved at the annual meeting of 25 May 2023, as Proposal 11: 192,835,432 votes for, 306,717,766 against, 6,709,364 abstentions and 99,035,889 broker non-votes, as certified in McDonald's Item 5.07 Form 8-K. That is 38.6 percent of the shares voted for and against, or 38.1 percent if abstentions are counted in the base.

Not approved, and the highest vote any of the Humane Society's proposals in this stretch of the catalogue drew. The company did not publish the indicators, and the Humane Society put the same request back on the 2024 ballot, where it drew 36.0 percent.
