FAIRR Initiative at The Restaurant Group
FAIRR and ShareAction convened an investor coalition that asked twenty of the largest listed fast-food and casual dining companies to end the routine, non-therapeutic use of antibiotics important to human medicine in their global meat, poultry and seafood supply chains, and to publish a policy with targets and timelines.

What happened
Result: No shareholder vote: this is a collaborative investor engagement. By 2019, 17 out of 20 companies had publicly available policies, while 2 had internal policies and 1 was developing a policy.
FAIRR states the engagement, which ran from 2016 to 2019, resulted in 19/20 companies disclosing publicly available antibiotic policies, up from one at the outset.
